Whether it’s enjoyably carving from the peak towards the lake in the four skiing areas or exploring Zillertal with its more than 500 kilometres of slopes, which is just 30 kilometres away – there are virtually no limits to your skiing fun in winter at Lake Achensee. And anyone who prefers gliding and skating to carving really gets their money’s worth in front of Arthurs Hotel. As the approx. 200 kilometre long cross-country skiing trail leads right past the door. And for the really sedate among you, there are countless, beautiful winter hiking trails at your feet.
Summer at Lake Achensee is no less impressive: gliding over the lake by kite, chilling on the shore, simply enjoying the sun and breathtaking view and freshening up in the wonderful water – whatever your personal preference! You should definitely make the climb at least once in the warm months: into the magnificent mountains of the Karwendel Alpine Park and Rofan mountains where there are umpteen hiking and mountain bike routes to suit everyone. Lake Achensee is special in the truest sense of the word in terms of cycling. As the region is a member of the Tyrolean Mountain Bike Specialists and the Bike Trail Tirol as well as the Munich Venice trail, the long-distance cycle path from Munich to Venice that is 560 kilometres long in total.
PS: At Arthurs you don’t have to go far to get cycling. The cycle routes lead right past the front door.
An active summer
Nestled between the impressive mountain ranges and green pastures and forests is a crystal clear mountain lake whose water even has drinking water quality. A unique landscape that is equally as popular with the locals and tourists in the summer.
